Homeless

tHE INFECTION AND Our new partnership with Mission 22.

The Infection are excited to share our new partnership with Mission 22. Mission 22 is a non-profit who combats the ever rising veteran suicide rate and assists with other veterans issue. Every day, more than twenty veterans are lost to suicide. Mission 22 wants to bring that number to zero.It does this with three main programs; veteran treatment programs, memorials and national awareness. Mission 22 provides treatment programs to veterans for Post-Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury and other issues they might be facing. It organizes events and builds memorials to create social impact and awareness for these issues.

Why did we choose this cause?

It stems from where we’re from. 1 in 10 homeless people are military veterans. The members of The Infection live in and around New York City and see homeless people living on the streets everywhere we turn. As witnesses to the homeless problem here in the city, we wanted to help raise awareness to the issues many Veterans are facing, Homelessness, PTSD and Veteran Suicide.

While Mission 22 doesn’t address Veteran homelessness directly, it does address many of the issues Veterans face that lead to homelessness around the country.

In the coming months The Infection will ask our fans to join us in helping our Veterans by donating to the cause.

We start this journey with the launch of our new video ‘Vagrant’ about a homeless veteran, inspired by a homeless man sitting on the sidewalk on the streets of New York City. Available here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNfvBIgQfWw

(Vagrant /ˈvāɡrənt/): A person without a settled home or regular work who wanders from place to place and lives by begging. Every Vagrant has a story. Some are parents. Some once had wealth. Many are former veterans suffering from PTSD.

Our music video “Vagrant” tells a story from their point of view.

*25% of all purchases of the song Vagrant from the link below between now and 12/31/19 will go to Mission 22 in support of Veteran's causes. You can also include additional funds and 100% of that additional amount will be donated to Mission 22. Go to the following link and select 'Buy Digital Track'. https://gettheinfection.bandcamp.com/.

We thank you for taking this journey with us. More to come…

Much Love,

R
